The Wolfman (Gotham City Chapter) by Sam4265 (Werewolf AU)
What I like about it: A very interesting story. Long, but won’t make you feel lengthy. Unlike most Werewolf Au with ABO Dynamic and Knotting, this one barely got any sex scenes in it. The author put time and mind out on each word to build plot and characters, which surprised me for how good all of it was.
A Lighted Window by Tabithian (No capes AU)
What I like about it: Good character development. Following the sequel, you get to see how Dick and Jason’s relationship developed, how their family expanded, and how they built a family together in the first place. Reading this was like getting a glimpse of how their normal life could have been, without all the hero thingies. They had jobs, friends, relationship, they dated, they visited their parent’s place scared and horrified, they fought, and they made up.
Fluff and sweet but with bits of angst, just like how life should be.
Exeunt, pursued by a bear by @elwon (Part 7 of Exeunt’verse)
What I like about it: The whole Exteunt’verse is amazing, but I find this particular piece really really special and precious. I’ve always been a fan of elwon’s fics, the way this writer captures the characters, the way she creates amazing stories around each of them, keeping them very canon but still got a hint of her very own writting in it. Everything couldn’t be more perfect in this one, the proposal that was more a hangover joke than honesty, but in the end spoke their heart louder than any of them could. The way Jay freaked out and Dick forgot only to remember it all. The bittersweetness in each word of how they viewed each other. It wasn’t sad, in any other word, it should be considered a quite happy fic for Jaydick, but it gave you that heavy feeling.
At Your Expensive Expense by @victoriousscarf (Royal AU; Modern Setting AU)
What I like about it: Cute, simple, and elegant. I have a thing for Jason crushing on Dick since childhood, and this fic did it amazingly. Jason and his hopeless crush, Dick and his duty, Damian and his attitude, the way they pushed and pulled each other around a messy circle, missing all the oportunities to simplify it, the way Jay didn’t give shit to anything but everything that was down to Dick got all of his attention. Everything was a perfect 10 to me. And the kiss was like 100,000 degree hot!
A Chance After Midnight by chewysugar
What I like about it: the question should be why shouldn’t I like it? Through Jason’ POV, you get to see it all. Everything was elaborated in his own way, sad and bitter, textured and then there was Dick, beautiful and far away, even when he was just a door away. Jason was hopelessly in love, and wasn’t that precious and so beautifully bittersweet?! He kept it down and down and down until that one night, when everything just sorta happened, like life, the feeling exploded, and then the fear, the denial, the insecurity, all leaded to happiness, in such a well sculpted way, I can imagine them right in front of my eyes.
i can see you shaking when we kiss by perissologist (Part 3 of Pop Psychology)
What I like about it: the story of how they first met, of how their relationship developed, of how they fell in love even when not wanting to nor expecting it, and of how life could treat you, horribly brutal and cruel, ready to rip a half of you apart at any time, only for you to realize how much the other had meant to you. A short, but very emotional fic, will make your heart clench and ache.
What I like about this: It’s Mikimoo’s. Do I need any other reason? 😂
